Ernest Wright is one of the UK’s two remaining scissor manufacturers. Both are in Sheffield, home to regional blademaking since the 14th century. Wright’s “putters” are highly trained master artisans. Established in 1902, today Ernest Wright enjoys widespread recognition for the skill of its craftspeople and the quality of its products. Winning the inaugural President’s Award for Endangered Crafts in the 2020 UK Heritage Craft Awards, as the company says, “Buy once, love it forever.”
