Schoolhouse Righties are the perfect little pair for perfect little hands. Also known as safety, childrens’ or craft scissors, their key feature is a blunted, rounded end that makes it a lot harder for small children to have little accidents when cutting up big art projects. Just because they are young doesn’t mean kids shouldn’t be able to use fine, meticulously crafted scissors. Make scissorcrafts a delight for the little learner in your life! These scissors are also available for little Lefties.
Please note: because of their size, Schoolhouse Righties come packaged in a protective Ciselier envelope with gift card rather than our standard presentation box.
🇮🇹 About Alpen Premana With the exception of Alpen's Schoolhouse Lefties, every pair of Ciselier scissors is shipped in a stunning custom-designed Presentation Box containing information about the manufacturer you are supporting. Our packaging is both durable and beautiful – just like our scissors.
Alpen is a family-run manufacturer in Premana, an Italian village in Lecco that is a centuries-old centre of heritage cutlery and blades. Brothers Mauro and Pietro Gianola are the second generation to run this business, founded in 1964 during a period of explosive growth that saw Premana emerge as one of the world’s premier scissor-making regions. Alpen’s superior quality, brilliant designs and commitment to traditional craftsmanship have recently attracted growing recognition outside of Italy.

As mentioned in various reviews already we bought a bunch of scissors to give away and these were by far the best sets. Consistent, easy to use, easy to clean, safe, and so good looking. Perfectly suited to any kids hands they made wonderful presents for little ones of family and friends. Super alternative relative the fleeting junk we often give to kids these days.
What have I done?
In all seriousness, I love the fact that I have been able to ensure that my daughter has something that will last her childhood and, if not lost, will very likely be passed along to her kids one day. For my little crafter, these have already become a cherished tool.
